Without an account

You can use PlayTab without an account. We measure traffic without cookies: page views, games launched, country and device type. Your IP address is never stored in clear (only a non-reversible fingerprint, to limit abuse).

Your preferences (language, recent games, favorites, reviews already given) are kept in your browser (local storage) and are not sent to us.

With an account

You log in with Google or Discord: we receive your ID on that service, your name, your profile picture and your email address (if verified). We never receive your password.

A session cookie ("pt_user") keeps you logged in for up to 90 days. A second, temporary cookie secures the login for 10 minutes. PlayTab sets no advertising cookies.

PlayTab Premium

If you are Premium, we also store your library (favorites, recent games, ratings), your collections, your playtime per game and your game saves on games hosted by PlayTab, so you get them on all your devices.

Payment is processed by Stripe (Stripe Payments Europe Ltd.), which charges you and sends the receipt. PlayTab never sees your card details: we only receive your Stripe customer ID, the plan you chose and your subscription status.

Big Picture mode

Big Picture (bigpicture.playtab.fun) keeps in your browser what it needs to work: your settings (controller, sounds, theme, size, chosen ad type), your favorites, recent games and ratings, your play time per game, the time of your last ad (to know how long you stay ad-free) and the windows you have already seen (welcome, controller tutorial). This data is essential to the mode and does not require consent.

To start faster and work offline, Big Picture also caches its files (scripts, styles, fonts, icons, catalog) and game covers in your browser. You can clear everything from your browser settings.

Because bigpicture.playtab.fun and playtab.fun are two different addresses, a small invisible playtab.fun page syncs your favorites, recent games, ratings, settings and last-ad time between them. If you are Premium, your Big Picture settings and play time are also kept on your account so you get them on all your devices.

We measure, without cookies and anonymously, how the mode is used (screens opened, buttons used, games launched, ads shown) to improve it. This is turned off if your browser sends “Do Not Track” or “Global Privacy Control”, and you can disable it in Settings › Interface › Anonymous statistics. Your connected controller is only used in your browser, to show the right buttons.

Advertising

For non-Premium players, banners and an ad page may be shown by our ad network (Adsterra). In Big Picture, you choose between an ad page in a new tab (Adsterra) and a short video (HilltopAds), played with Fluid Player loaded from cdn.fluidplayer.com. These networks may use their own cookies and receive your IP address to serve the ad. Ads only appear when a game opens, never during play. Premium members see no ads.

Retention and deletion

Your account data is kept as long as the account exists. You can delete it at any time from "My account": library, collections, stats and saves are erased immediately. Remember to cancel your subscription first.

Anonymous traffic data is kept for 13 months at most.
